The Opportunity
One of our clients, a company that specializes in high-resolution aerial imagery and geospatial data, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to play a critical role in advancing their technology platforms. This position is an excellent opportunity to leverage your DevOps expertise in a fast-paced and innovative environment, where your contributions will directly enhance operational and strategic capabilities.

The Project
The company is pioneering in the field of geospatial data analysis and delivery. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be pivotal in automating deployment processes, ensuring high availability and security of the infrastructure, and contributing to a sustainable and innovative solution at a crucial time in the industry.

Main Responsibilities

Infrastructure Design and Implementation
  • Maintain the high availability of the company's internal infrastructure and services.
  • Maintain and support DevOps toolsets, processes and automation supporting the software development lifecycle.
  • Maintain and support observability tools and frameworks within Kubernetes and Cloud hosted workloads.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of work instructions and internal procedures.
  • Out of hours support as required and agreed.
Deployment Automation
  • Identify and champion improvements to ensure our systems' reliability, observability, and security.
  • Utilize CI/CD platforms to automate provisioning infrastructure, software builds, tests and releases.
  • Look at software and system optimizations with a view to improving productivity.
  • Work closely with wider Engineering and Technology teams and proactively
    contribute to improvement initiatives.
Cloud Security and Compliance
  • Improve the system design and architecture by identifying major areas of risk.
  • Participate in design reviews, (AWS well architected reviews, operational readiness, and security assessments)
  • Adopt best security practices in line with the NIST Cyber security framework and compliance frameworks (e.g., surveillance, data loss prevention, intrusion detection, event logging, application monitoring) and cloud best practices and compliance.

Required Skills
  • 5+ years’ experience working in a DevOps role
  • Experience deploying, configuring and managing resources and platforms at scale on cloud environments.
  • Experience designing and building application containerisation and modernisation solutions Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience writing and deploying Infrastructure as code – Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
  • Experience supporting Linux infrastructure and cloud native workloads
  • Scripting and deployment automation experience.
  • Experience in designing CI/CD, logging and monitoring tools for development teams

Nice-to-Haves
  • Exposure to implementing and supporting observability tools and frameworks within Kubernetes and Cloud hosted workloads.
  • Experience with web-based and/or services-based applications.
  • Understanding of enterprise architectures.
  • Exposure to NIST Cyber security framework and compliance frameworks (SOC2)
  • Exposure with AWS Security Tools 
  • Exposure to Container Vulnerability / Compliance Scanning tools
